The Secret to Shopping is.....

I used to be overwhelmed by bright colors because I am kind of a "down-to-earth" tones kinda person. Throw me gray or beige any day. So I took that idea and paired it with my bright capris to make it more springy.

Maybe you have noticed that I love this jacket. I think that having a great jacket is key to spring this year for the days where it is just a little chilly. When I go shopping for any piece of clothing, I like to look for a statement piece, something that is going to be just a little different than what everyone else is wearing. Whether it is a different style, color, pattern, anything, that is going to set you apart from the crowd. It will amaze you just how stylish you will feel just wearing one item that is a little different and, well, a little more you.

Free Time

Even though I titled this one free time, you should know that my free minutes with a 15 month old are minimal to none, so when I am able to accomplish anything I feel uber proud and feel like I need to share. So here is what I was able to finish in my 5 min of free time today :)

Ignore the mess. I obviously spent my free time on crafts, not cleaning...surprised Matt? Oh, wait, that's every day. crap.

So it turns out today that I only had enough energy to get dressed for church, take these pictures, drive to church, sit down in sacrament for all of 10 minutes, and then have to leave because I was feeling miserable. Woe is the life of us girls during that time of the month.

Ok, I am going to go now. I feel like I am giving birth again. Only consolation is that I know it won't last 22 hours, and that Ibprofen should do the trick (prescription strength, that is).  

Not to Brag...But My Little Man is Awesome

I took Link on a long adventure today, from Zumba, to bank errands, to lunch with my fabulous Laurels, to the gas station, and then grocery shopping. You would think after all this that he would be a cranky butt...well, he was, but during all those things he was a little angel, smiling with those big gapped teeth, and it made me realize just how lucky I am to have such a sweet little man.

Not to mention how much fun he has been since he started dancing :) He has memorized the Blue's Clues dance, and anytime we say the word "blue" or pull up netflix on the xbox, he immediately starts waving with his hands, shaking his bum, and "putting it in his notebook" with his hands. I have to say, it sort-of-completely melts my heart.

And so there is my ode to my sweet baby boy, who is growing up really fast, and manages to make me smile at least 6 out of 7 days of the week (let's not get too crazy here, we still have bad days after all), and gives me kisses whenever I ask (even if sometimes it ends up like a puppy kiss, wet and slobbery).

I have always been in love with these wide leg shorts, because they make my upper legs seem slimmer :) Which is always a necessity when I purchase pants/shorts.

Thai and Jaws

Well, I had a fabulous Valentine's Day. Matt surprised me by getting a babysitter and taking me out to our favorite Thai restaurant. We even got crazy and got our favorite appetizer there. They are these amazing spring rolls, with an even more amazing sauce to dip them in. It was perfect. Then we came home and Matt let me pick the movie to snuggle to. I chose Jaws. I can only handle so much "mushy mushy" for one day, so I ended it with some bloody limbs. Did you know that Jaws was written based off of a true story about a rogue shark in the 50's in New Jersey? Matt and I watched a documentary on it (mmm, yes we are documentary lovers. Super senior of us), anyway, it was really good.

After dressing up yesterday (which I forgot to take a picture of, o'well), I decided a sweatshirt was in order today. So how did I make a sweatshirt work for daywear, without looking like pajamas? Easy, just added some wedges and a layer of shiny/pearly bracelets :)

Definitely not the only way to wear a sweatshirt without looking like pajamas, but it worked well for me today :) Now I am comfy, but still feel cute.
