Home!!

Recognize the background? Yep, bet you missed the same old backyard in every picture. Well lucky for you I am back home and you will get to see lots....and lots...and...well, let's just say my photographer is free as long as he doesn't have to go anywhere else :)

{shorts: made them, shirt: target, shoes: thrifted}

This is my happy face, because I am so excited to be with my man again. 3 weeks was way too long to be away from him, even though it did seem to go by really fast with all the fun activities at my parent's house. Lucky I get to see them again in a couple of weeks for the wedding, but this time Matti gets to come too so I won't have to be missing him :) Happy Friday everyone!!

{Thrifty Thursday} Share Your Treasure!!

I have to say, I was a little jealous of this Thrifty treasure that Fern and Dandy shared last Thursday. Isn't that the BEST blazer ever? Yeah, gray and beige might be my favorite right now. They are much softer than the harsh black :)

So, now it is time to share your treasures again!

Remember to put the "Thrifty Chica button on the SIDE SCROLL of your blog so that your image is not deleted!

Picnic type days

I love really nice, sunny but cool days. The kind I can only find here in Utah, because Oklahoma does NOT get this cool during the summer :)  (but you can't beat the warm winters, that's for sure!).

And, apparently, I also love wearing blue shirts with these pants, because I think this is about the hundredth time I have paired a blue shirt with these pants. Aw well, when you find something that works, go with it!

I apparently also love swinging with Link, much more than he likes it :)

Saturday Project

Out of the kindness of my heart...ok, out of sheer excitement, I bring you CUFF SHORTS! You know, like the cuff pants we made, only now they are shorts? mmmm, so wonderful :)

So here is what they look like:

{shoes and cami: F21, shorts: made them, shirt: thrifted, wallet: gift}

So, basically, you just follow the cuff pant tutorial HERE. The only difference is, it is best to do this with a linen pant, or one that looks similar, and it is best if it falls right about 1 inch above the knee to 2 inches.

You might need to take in the pant a little bit at the top because linen pants are usually made to be baggy, and if you need to, you just take a couple of inches off by sewing along the inside seam.

And then for a fun measure, I am going to dye mine red when I get home from vacation :)

Also, you may have noticed this little wallet I was posing with. That's because my awesome sister didn't want it, and so now it is mine all mine! She saw the floral print and thought of me :) I just love sisters

Thrifty Thursday

Oops! Put this on late! So I will have it open tomorrow too :) Sorry guys! Vacation is really messing with me!

So you guys voted, and it was tied, so I picked my favorite of the two. I had to pick the fierce skirt because I wish I could look this great in Zebra print :)

Before you add your pictures, make sure you add the thrifty Chica button to your SIDE SCROLL so it doesn't get deleted!

Now let's see those treasures!!!

Slacker

Since being on vacation means a limited amount of clothing options, it seems I have run out of my creative options, and so instead of making you see just a mediocre outfit, I think I will just post one of my FAVORITES posts today :)

First:

Paul & Joe at ShopStyle

The first modest romper that I would actually wear! I have to say I was very excited when I found this and have been thinking of all the wonderful ideas I could do with it, and here is one:

Man, I just love shopstyle :) When I run out of clothes, I just pretend with these ones :)

Refashions and Floral Treats

I knew there were some lovely vintage treats downstairs in the dress up box, including some of my mom's old clothes, so I took a little trip down there and found this amazing dress. The waist line was a little low for the look of the dress, so I modernized it by taking up the waist line in the middle and then a little less on the sides to give it an a-line cut, kind of like the cropped shirts that have started...bear with me..."cropping" up. hardy har har.

{dress: vintage, shoes: F21}

I loved the flowy fabric, and the lace detail around the neck line, and just knew I had to make it work, and so yesterday morning I started sewing it at 7 am before we had to leave at 7:30 to practice a song for sacrament, and my sister came down "I thought I heard the sewing machine, but I thought, who the heck would be sewing this early in the morning."....um, me? Yeah, it was me. And finished it with just enough time to practice the song, get dressed and head to church. That is some speed sewing if you ask me.

And last but not least, my new FLORAL shoes!! My mom just about barfed when she saw them, which is a good sign that they are AWESOME. :) We have very different tastes, although, the dress I refashioned was once hers so maybe we are just a few decades apart :)
