Date Night With My Men

So date nights on Fridays usually happen around 3 pm since I work all night, but hey, we get them in when we can :) Today's date: Chili's. Basically that is where we choose to go almost every time because we love it.

Here we are on our date. I even managed to get our waiter in the back {unintentional}. And if you think my husband is ugly, that is his own dang fault because he makes the most ridiculous faces in every picture I take of him. Now my little man Link, on the other hand, is a total camera cheese if you can't tell by this picture. He poses just about every time he sees a camera. 

Here's the whole outfit:

Found these j.crew wide-leg pants at, you guessed it, the thrift store. I am in love with the fit, even though you can't really tell how awesome they are in this pic. I am pretty sure that there is a j.crew fairy somewhere here in Norman, in my size, that loves to drop off j.crew beauties at the Goodwill for me to find, buy and cherish because I am always finding awesome j.crew stuff {which is normally uber expensive and completely out of my price range, which is why I am thankful for my little Norman fairy}.

Cuff Pants, I LOVE Them!

So, here's the scoop, I have been wanting some cuff pants since Melissa wore them hosting "Bachelor Pad". They were crazy and different and I felt like I needed them. Well, I am still poor, so I thought my best bet of having them would be to alter some pants of my own into cuff pants. The problem? I have pretty much altered the crap out of all of my pants, and didn't have the heart to give them surgery one more time, so Link and I went to Goodwill yesterday and while I was there I found these fabulous pants (black with floral design) that were just a little big for me, and flares. I would NEVER have worn them as flares, but the minute I saw these fancy pants I knew I had to make them into cuff pants. So, that is what I did! What do you think?

How do you feel about cuff pants? I am really excited about how these turned out and I was surprised how much longer they made my legs look. Pleasantly surprised of course :) Tutorial will follow shortly. 

Lost and Found

Link has had a bad habit, while we have been on vacation, with taking things out of the trash in our hotel, and putting things in it. Which is why when I had been searching and searching for my shoe and couldn't find it I immediately went to the trash can. Sure enough, it was there. In the trash, covered in goop. Thank heavens for little boys :)

I got these earrings yesterday on Link and my adventure. We stopped by the mall and had to check out Forever 21. I have to say that this was an exciting trip, because I was unaware that they had earrings for $1.50! Kind of exciting. And pretty excited for these anchor earrings for the summer time. Now I just need to get a yacht to wear them on. I'll let you know when that happens...50 years from now.

{My Man Mondays} Plaid Everything

Plaid has taken over men's fashion (awesome) and it now reaches from guy's shoes to their shorts to their jackets. It is all over and I can't say that this doesn't make me happy, because in fact, I LOVE it. I don't mean all together though fellas. Sorry to those of you who could have figured that out on your own (Matt brought Link to church one day dressed in blue and green plaid shorts with an orange and brown plaid shirt....it hurt me a little).

So here are all the fun ways to wear plaid:

We have the plaid fedora. 

The plaid hoodie/jacket.

We have the plaid long-sleeved plaid shirt. 

My favorite:  The plaid Shoes

And Matt's favorite: The plaid shorts. 

All of these are a great way to strut your man stuff. The shirt and shorts are for the more timid of heart. So start with those if you are a little weary of the plaid look. Then maybe get a little crazy with some plaid shoes (because they are awesome) and then go from their with the rest of the plaid looks. Again, though, DO NOT put more than 1 plaid look together unless you are so overwhelming stylish that you have found that perfect balance that, frankly, I would have to see to believe is even possible. 

My favorite men's look with the plaid fedora:  Wear it with a casual and loose fitting white tee, comfy shorts, and some loafers, for a smooth and comfy look. 

Now the one plaid thing that I beg you take with caution: The plaid short-sleeved shirt. I haven't quite figured out how to put that one together without looking like an old man. So please, if you have an awesome ideas send them in to my email.
