The Grand Finale!!

And here they are! The remaining oufits :) This was a super fun day full of MANY activities. One of which being taking all these pictures. Though it may seem a small task, it actually took a couple of hours to create, change into, and photograph each outfit. Luckily I had my bestie Shawna and her sister (basically my other sister) Kelley. Otherwise this could have been a very excruciating process having to set the timer, pose, "click", set the timer, pose, "click"....you get the idea. It was also fun to have them there with me and to get their input. This also meant a variety of backgrounds which I am sure will be refreshing since I really only give you 2 different ones normally.

Without further adieu, the last 10 outfits:

Get crazy and put different shades of the same color together.

Try putting a belt OVER your blazer and shirt the next time you wear them. Also, adding jeans with a blazer helps keep it casual.

Try booties with rolled up jeans :)

For a casual yet AWESOME look, try a tee over your plaid shirt. I have to say this was one of my favorite outfits today.

Oh, yes, the sexy bum pose, I have to say I look very ragged in all these pictures. (which reminds me of when my friend's husband told her she looked "ragged" while we were camping. If looks could kill? He would be dead dead).

I am a big fan of the side messy braid.

Throw a cowl on to add a little dimension to any ol' outfit.

Striped jacket over striped shirt added a little somethin somethin to this outfit.

Hmm, just spying on the neighbors. I still don't know what they look like. Is that weird? Maybe I should bring them a Christmas present and get to know them.

Love to add leggings/thick tights to keep warm with my dresses in the winter. Not to mention I love the look of fun tights. (Kara, I didn't get to tell you I LOVED your tights Sunday :D)

I saved my favorite for last. I added my big oversized shirt and threw it over my floral dress. Then to keep my curves just added a belt. This kept the three colors rule: I am wearing at least three colors, one with a bold print.

There you go, my last outfits. It was pretty fun putting all these together I have to admit. Now my house looks like a tornado went through it though because all of my clothes and accessories are in a pile in the living room (my changing room today), and I haven't had time to pick them up because it has been so busy. A good busy, though, full of fun times with my Young Women. I just love being able to hang with them every Wednesday. They are probably some of the funniest people I have every met :)

Well, I am off to bed because I am WORN out. Peace.

Can We Say Poor Planning On My Part?

Soooo…poor planning on my part. I was thinking that if I did 26 for 26 now it would make it easier to pack for Utah, but here’s the thing. I am going to be there for 3 weeks, and only 1 of those weeks will I be doing the 26 for 26. That means that I would have to pack about twice as many clothes because after this 26 for 26 is over, I pretty much don’t want to wear those clothes ever again….ok, that might be an exaggeration, but only a slight one. I am one for creativity and saving money, but I think it had the opposite effect on me because now I am just tired of my clothes from having to wear the same ones, and I feel like I deserve new ones :) The saddest part? I am only 15 days in!

So here’s the scoop, because I do not want to have to pack twice as many clothes because baggage is expensive, I am just going to do a post tomorrow finishing up how I would wear the outfits. This way I am still having to be creative and come up with 26 outfits. Good thing I cleaned all the clothes yesterday :)

Easy T-shirt and Jeans mix

This post is coming to you a little later than usual because I have been spending the day with my bestie here in Oklahoma. While I was getting ready to go out with bestie, I was doing my hair and got a rat's nest. This probably wouldn't bring back any memories to the normal person but it brought fun memories back to me.

My best friend since we were 5 (Manda, that's what I call her, it is actually Amanda) and I used to collect really weird things: rocks, new carpet shavings....rats nests. Yes my friends, rat nests. You know, when you are brushing your hair and you get a know and then you brush the knot and it is this ball of hair in your brush. That is a rat's nest. I had gone over to Manda's house after school and she showed me her new rat's nest collection. I was so intrigued (as I usually was at anything Manda was doing because it always seemed so cool) and so when I brushed my hair the next day and got a rat's nest I got super excited about it and ran it over to her house to add to her collection. But, she looked at me all grossed out and said "um, this is just for MY rat's nests". I was not saddened, I just went home and started collecting them myself. The good news? I DO NOT have that collection anymore, even though I am sure it would sell for millions. I have moved on to cooler collections like stamps and coins. You know, normal ones that you aren't embarrassed to show people.

Now to my outift:

T-shirt: Walmart, belt: thrifted, cardigan: thrifted, scarf: Christams present, boots: TJ Maxx, jeans: JC Penney

Want to make a cowl out of a scarf that you already have? Take the scarf ends and then tie them together with ribbon. Voila! Easy peasy cowl. That is what I did with this scarf :)

What Is On The Inside Is What Counts

This is what I have to remember when I am feeling this way. Today just felt like an ugly day, but I usually feel like this when I have EARLY (7:30, which means up by 6:45) morning church meetings because I only give myself 10 minutes to get ready because sleep is my most favorite thing in the WHOLE world (cough...oh yeah...except my husband and son of course). So basically I got up this morning and just threw what seemed to be the warmest attire I had in my 26 for 26 mess (because all of my 26 for 26 is in a pile right now), threw my hair in a pony and ran out the door. Then people were so sweet to tell me I looked great, which on a day like this didn't really persuade me to feel that way, even though I very much appreciate what they said :)

So, I come home from church and decide that I will grudgingly take pictures of my outfit just because I love you guys and quickly take them so I can change into jammies. Then I come to post those pics and for some reason they didn't load right and I always delete them while they are loading so it seems they are lost forever. You know people say "so ugly you broke the camera". I think I may have broken the camera. great.

It is about this time that I start thinking that I need to remember that it is what is on the inside that counts. Not to mention we had a lesson today about realizing your talents, and I need to be a good example to my sweet little Young Women. So, here I am remembering that I have a super awesome Heavenly Father who loves me even when my hair looks like poop in a bun, and who gave me the special talent of laughter to laugh off all of my less-than-perfect week. I am really good at laughing. In fact, one time someone told me (Jared) that I laughed at everything, and that whenever he was with me he felt super funny. He realized my talent.

And so it is, I am laughing off my eventful week and my YIKES hair. But since I still don't have pictures to show you, I put a box together that shows you what I wore without actually having to break my camera again.

Haven't I Seen This Before?

Maybe you remember seeing these items together before? Yes it is true that I am wearing my skirt as my shirt. Kind of how I wore my dress as a shirt a couple of days ago. Plus I am wearing black with brown. I feel like such a rebel. Come to think of it, I actually painted my finger nails red on one hand and green on the other. Yep, I think that settles it, I'm a rebel. Rebel Ruby.

Leggings: Walmart, Shoes: TJ Maxx, Skirt/shirt: ?been too long, belt: thrifted, jacket: thrifted

I have a treat for you guys:  Here is a little taste of it.

Cute beanie, right? Well I will tell you where to find it next week so you can look sexy while bundling up for the cold weather. Plus...do I hear a giveaway coming? Um, yep I think I do.

Just Another One Of Those Days

Today wasn't necessarily the worst day, but it has not been working in my favor. And just as I was about to cry my phone stopped working (perfect). Time to turn to itunes to rescue me from my mood. Music has a power over me. It is my magic when I am happy, sad, discouraged, drained, excited. Basically I have a playlist for every mood.

Here is my blah mood list:

Wish You Were               Kate Voegele
Chemistry of a car crash Shiny toy guns
Almost Lover                 A Fine Frenzy
Mix Tape                 Brand New
Stay                        Michelle Featherstone
All My Loving        Across The Universe Soundtrack
Somebody Loved        The Weepies
World Spins Madly On    The Weepies
A long december        Counting Crows
We all lose one another   Jason Collett
1234                        Feist
Under the Blacklight        Rilo Kiley
Someday you will be loved  Death Cab For Cutie

Funny how sad songs help turn my mood around. I think it is because as I sing along it helps me get out my frustration. Course, while listening to the music I usually have my comfort food: soda, chocolate :)

I never really got why people say I look like Ali Larter, but in this picture I kiiiinda get it.

Obviously she is gorgeous, I'm not saying that about myself, but just that we could pass for sisters. What do ya think?

 (freezing!)

It is because of my blah mood that I chose this comfy outfit. It's funny because I never would have put this striped shirt underneath, but since I didn't have any other options because of the 26 for 26 I decided to just try it and guess what?... Yeah, I pretty much love it together. Good job 26 for 26 teaching me to shop my own closet. Isn't what it is there for after all?
What are your blah mood traditions?

Christmas Card

Wow, yesterday was cr-a-zy! You ever have those days where the night before you made a plan for your day and it sounded great, and then that day comes and EVERYTHING you had planned turns upside down? Basically everything I did yesterday got messed up or was harder than it was supposed to be. Got to love those days. So that is why I did not get my pictures posted. That means that you get two today :) But for right now I am just going to give you a sneak peak of our Christmas card. We took pictures yesterday while I was in my outfit, and I am pretty excited about how they turned out. I made my men wear sweaters and then they matched Ike who wears a sweater year long.

You've got to love Link's face in this pic :)

My guys lookin good.

Me and my two sons. They look so good in their sweaters.

As far as my outfit, pants: altered Aeropostale, shirt: made it, shoes: TJ Maxx, belt: thrifted, necklace: made it.

An easy outfit anyone can put together :)

Happy Anniversary

It is mine and Matt's 4th year anniversary! And in celebration of it, I put together an outfit that Matt would appreciate :) He is very particular sometimes and one of the things he really likes is when my hair is in a ponytail. Of all the things, he likes a ponytail. Now for some women this would be awesome for you because you would never have to do your hair, but for me this is a bit of a challenge. Ever since I was young I loved to do my hair. Even when pajamas made up my entire 8th grade wardrobe, I still always had my hair done. I would buy magazines just to get ideas about how I could do my hair. Ok, I think you get the point. So Matti, this one is for you. Love you baby.

Sweater: thrifted AE, pants: altered Aeropostale, boots: uhhh?, belt: husbands, necklace: made it.

You know by now that I am a show-off so I obviously had to post some pics of the other bib necklace that I made.

Ok, so now you know about Matt and the ponytail. Are there things that your significant other likes you to do?

Fly Like An Eagle

I don't know what it is, but I have been in a cleaning and crafting mood lately. Crafty moods happen often, but cleaning ones? Not so much. Matt is probably very excited with my cleaning mood because he is usually the one who keeps the house in order. Wives, you may be thinking "jealous" but sometimes it is like living with your mother, "Ruby, pick up your craft stuff before Link gets to it" or "Ruby, you have gotten glitter everywhere!". So it is kind of a trade: I get to live with mother occasionally, but husband puts the toilet seat down all by himself (his mom taught him well).

(shirt: Walmart, belt: thrifted, cami: Gen-X, pants: altered Aeropostale, boots: TJ Maxx, Earrings: Hint of Vintage)

You might notice me making an effort to show you my earrings. That is because while in this crafty mood I decided to make some boho feather earrings. I am kind of REALLY in love with them so you will probably see them a lot. I also added some to Hint of Vintage just so I could share this love with you. Now we can all be grateful for my crafty moods.

Show Off

Yes, I am admitting that I am a show-off. But once again I am excited that I was able to make something that turned out awesome. I made this bib necklace today, (tutorial) and I was pretty pumped to wear it and the best part is I didn't break an 26 for 26 rules because although it is new, I made it with left over fabric. And it is an accessory and I can have as many of those as I want right now. See? Awesome.

I would also like to take a moment, while I am being a show-off, to announce that I have finally beaten Matt in a game of Monopoly. After 4 years of marriage (well, it will be 4 this Wed), and many a games I have never beat him until last night. Boo-yah. It is not that I am a competitive person....wait, what? Of course I am! I am a Bailey. We call you names and beat you if we don't win. This might be why Matt said "I am kind of glad you won tonight". Oops. Maybe I should work on being a sore loser winner Ok, I obviously need to work on both.

Pink Tights

I wanted to wear a little color today, so I was pretty excited when I realized my shirt that I picked out had some pink lines because I had just found a pair of pink tights hidden in my drawer, nearly forgotten. I have to say they worked well together, or at least I think so :)

You can't really see the pink lines, but trust me, they are there. If I could give you one piece of advice on color tights: don't build your outfit around them. They should be a last thought of color.

Ok, this is a short post today because I want to go play outside with my little man. I kind of love our adventures.

Cheating

Oh man! It is only Day 5 of the 26 for 26 and I am already cheating! Ok, but technically you could count these as pajamas since I am wearing pajama pants and I didn't see anything in the rules about not wearing pajamas (yes, I know this is a stretch). This is a special event though! OU is in the Big 12 Championship today against Nebraska. I am kind of freaking out because I have to wait 7 more hours to even watch the game. I want them to win SO bad. This is the last Big 12 Championship EVER since they are getting rid of the Big 12. And we can't let Nebraska take the title because they are part of the reason there won't be a Big 12 next year.

Ok, I am done with football babble...or at least until the game starts when I typically scream my head off (which has scared Link into tears on occassion...oops) and pace when it gets really intense. I am getting anxious already.

Ok, so here is my "pajama" outfit today. (p.s. mom let us open our OU Christmas presents early and I was pretty stoked to get these sweat pants).

Yes, I realize that my Heisman pose is lacking, and that I look like a girl ("that's what I am halfwit", "yes, but today you look it!"....anyone?....Ever After). The way I am holding this pose makes me slightly embarrassed, but I had to do a football pose, it was necessary for a day like today. Matt's Heisman pose was much better, but he is kind of hot that way.

Wind Meet Hair; Hair Meet Wind

Bah, it is so windy here today. I thought I would get creative and have Matti take pictures of me while we all played at the park, but literally every time Matt pulled the camera out, the wind started up. So there are very few pictures today and in all of them my hair looks ratty and wind-blown.

Ah well, I should look at the bright side. Link was feeling better today and well enough to have a grand time at the park today. This park that we went to is super awesome and it is built of wood to look like a castle. Probably my favorite part though, is all the music makers they have around the playground. I love music so I am trying to brainwash Link early into loving it too. I don't know if he loved the music so much as just banging the pipes with a stick. I'm going to go with just loving to bang the pipes. O'well, I will just continue to play Death Cab all day and hope that it sticks :)

(Blazer: Dress Barn, Floral dress: thrifted, Boyfriend/skinny jeans: Kohls, Necklace: Hint of Vintage, Shoes: gift from mamasita).

I got a little crazy with day 4's outfit and wore my floral dress as a shirt. I kind of love it as a shirt and I think it is going to be my new favorite way to wear it. Anyway, I threw on my black blazer because although it is 70 degrees here, most of my readers are lookin at snow so I thought I would winter up the outfit for you all. (plus I just like it). Got my boyfriend jeans on to casual it up, and my go-to shoes. Funny how right after I tell you that I match my accessories I get crazy on ya and wear a blue necklace with beige shoes. I can get pretty wild sometimes.
