Matt's Surprise

Well, I surprised Matt for the 3rd year in a row with a "5-year-olds" party. The theme was "you think you are old, but you don't act like it!" lol. Everyone that came was GREAT and had awesome gag gifts. Everyone there made it an awesome party, and my bestie Shawna helped me plan and execute it the Thursday before his party Friday. It was a super fun time.

This is what I wore for his birthday (of course, the hair is in a ponytail):

{Cropped pants: altered thrifted, shirt: Aeropostale, undertank: Gen-X, Shoes: Ross}

I forgot just how much I liked these cropped pants. I think I need to make some for spring too. Maybe a light beige color, or maybe a light blue. Who knows! I'm sure you will see the finished product though :) And here is a link to the cropped pants tutorial from a couple of months ago.

Cuff Pants, I LOVE Them!

So, here's the scoop, I have been wanting some cuff pants since Melissa wore them hosting "Bachelor Pad". They were crazy and different and I felt like I needed them. Well, I am still poor, so I thought my best bet of having them would be to alter some pants of my own into cuff pants. The problem? I have pretty much altered the crap out of all of my pants, and didn't have the heart to give them surgery one more time, so Link and I went to Goodwill yesterday and while I was there I found these fabulous pants (black with floral design) that were just a little big for me, and flares. I would NEVER have worn them as flares, but the minute I saw these fancy pants I knew I had to make them into cuff pants. So, that is what I did! What do you think?

{This is the pattern upclose and personal}

I used these as my inspiration:

How do you feel about cuff pants? I am really excited about how these turned out and I was surprised how much longer they made my legs look. Pleasantly surprised of course :) Tutorial will follow shortly.

Obsessed With Cuff Pants

I have to say that if one trend has caught my attention and obsessive tendencies, it is DEFINITELY the cuff pant. So cute, and modest all on their own. Now be careful, because we are not talking 80's MC Hammer pants (which I owned, in almost every color. Don't judge), or pirate pants. Be careful that you are picking a neutral color like black or gray because that is the difference between 2010 fall fashion and 1985 fashion.

I am loving the comfy aspect of the pants, and also the way that you can wear them with just about anything. My personal preference? Cuff pants, with a loose fitting tee or dress it up with a more elegant shirt. Whatever you do, wear them with heals. Pick boots and you have a pirate. Flats might work, but be careful that they are not making these comfy pants look more like sweats.

Here's the pics to help you love the look: (Now, some are immodest, but remember the cardigan could fix those!)

These are my favorite! Personally though, I would have hemmed them up because the length is making her legs looks shorter than they are.

This is a cute cuff pant from Modcloth.com (you know, that cyber boutique I can't get enough of?)

Have fun with this look! I know I will :)
